La voce ha iniziato a circolare per mano di John Riccitiello, presidente della EA, che nella conferenza di ieri aveva affermato che la data di uscita per l'atteso MMORPG era stata fissata a primavera del 2011. Questa affermazione è stata poi confermata dalla Bioware, la casa produttrice del videogioco, che per mano di Sean Dahlberg, dichiara: Sean Dahlberg ha scritto: While we have not announced a specific date, we can confirm that we are targeting a spring 2011 release for Star Wars™: The Old Republic™.
